Business Breakfast with Allan Jackson, business communications expert

Friday, 1st September 2017 at 6:50am - 8:30am

Location: Rocklily Restaurant, Brisbane International Hotel Virginia QLD 4014

This event is in the past.

Join us on Friday 1 September and meet our new member and guest speaker, Allan Jackson.

TOPIC: The Write Stuff for Your Business

What is content creation? Business owners today need to be publishers of blogs, websites and printed materials, and professional writing has become more important than ever. Allan will share content creation ideas, and hints and tips on where you can look for publicity opportunities. You will also receive a checklist for the information that typically needs to be included in any written communication.

SPEAKER BIO:

Allan was born in Durban, South Africa, and got into a career in journalism and public relations almost by accident. In his first position as editor of a library journal he was responsible not only for the writing but also the layout which was done by cutting and pasting (with real glue) typed copy and using Letraset for the headlines. He went on to work in a daily newspaper for a number of years before becoming a freelance journalist and public relations practitioner. He worked as a layout sub editor for Fairfax Agricultural Media after arriving in Australia and started his own freelance business in 2016.

BOTS: What makes us different?

There are quite a few business networking groups out there. What makes us different? Well, we’re independent - there’s no one at the end of the line taking fees for your attendance. We do have a few simple rules, but we don’t mind breaking them occasionally. We’re dynamic and flexible and we find that this helps grow a strong cooperative environment in which to pass business referrals.
